EL SALVADOR. 2 Reales, ND (1862-63). PCGS VF-35 Gold Shield.
KM-93. R-in-beaded circle countermark (type IV) on an 1862 2 Reales of Guatemala. A small pin scratch on the bust from long ago now toned over and blended well with the rest of the coin hardly distracting, but mentioned for accuracy. A nice original example with attractive slate patina highlighted by areas of russet in the peripheries. Countermark deeply impressed rendering the full design on the base of the bust. Overall a handsome representative of the type certain to be a welcome addition to the next collection it enters.
