Description

1895 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-64 Cameo (PCGS).
Lovely Select Proof quality for this fabled Morgan dollar issue. Lightly toned surfaces exhibit soft overtones of champagne-pink iridescence that appear to drift toward the borders. There is reflectivity in the fields, and it nicely contrasts frosty design elements to support the coveted CAM designation from PCGS. Smartly impressed and sharply defined, as befits the method of manufacture. With 880 Proofs struck and no circulation strikes produced, the 1895 is the rarest date and mint combination in the popular and widely collected Morgan dollar series of 1878 to 1921.The Proof 1895 easily ranks as the most elusive Philadelphia Mint issue of this type and the acquisition of a Proof 1895 is the sign of an accomplished Morgan dollar collector. This PCGS Proof-64 Cameo specimen would serve as a highlight in any cabinet and comes highly recommended.
PCGS# 87330. NGC ID: 27ZR.
