1888 Liberty Seated Dime. Fortin-101. Rarity-4. Proof-67 Cameo (PCGS). CAC.
A glorious Superb Gem Proof, champagne-pink centers are framed in warmer peripheral toning in iridescent cobalt blue. With an extant population of up to 685 pieces (per Q. David Bowers, 2016), it appears that most of the 832 Proof dimes struck in 1888 found contemporary buyers. While this issue is understandably obtainable in lower grades, near the pinnacle of the numismatic grading scale it is a significant condition rarity. The offered specimen possesses bold field to device contrast to go with virtually pristine surfaces and the aforementioned toning, making it an especially desirable package in a Proof Liberty Seated dime of the Legend Obverse design type.
PCGS# 84785. NGC ID: 23DD.
