1693 Louis XIV Felicitas Domus Augustae Medal. Betts-75C. Copper. AU Details--Rim Damage (PCGS).
41.2 mm. 366.2 grains. Glossy and smooth chocolate brown. Sharp and appealing, though some whiteish residue is seen on the portrait and in the right obverse field. Scattered marks are noted, including a short scratch under AUG atop the reverse. While something could be obscured by the holder, it appears the "rim damage" is a group of small knocks left of 6 o'clock on the reverse. This remains a handsome example of this popular type.
From the Joe Foster Collection. Earlier ex John Kraljevich, May 2013.
