1690 Quebec Preserved Medal. Betts-68. Bronze. MS-64 BN (PCGS).
41.3 mm. 424.8 grains. Plain edge. Sedate medium brown with glossy luster and some light reflectivity on the reverse. A bit of blue-violet toning in the reverse fields accentuates the crispness of the central reverse design. Problem free and attractive, a splendid example of this rare and important issue. While this piece came from the Adams Collection, it is not the single Betts-68 that was offered in the 2013 Adams sale.
From the Joe Foster Collection. Earlier ex Leonard Finn, December 1983; John W. Adams Collection; Warren Baker, April 2000.
