Charmingly Toned "Dragon in the Clouds" Dollar
(t) CHINA. Dollar, Year 3 (1911). Tientsin Mint. Hsuan-t'ung (Xuantong [Puyi]). PCGS MS-62.
L&M-37; K-227; KM-Y-31; WS-0046B. Variety without dot after "DOLLAR" and with extra flame. Presenting a gunmetal gray-olive nature, this crown, struck in the third and final year in the reign of Hsuan-t'ung, verges upon Choice status. While the toning provides an elegant layer of character, the lustrous brilliance radiating throughout increases its eye appeal that much more.
