Description

The "Flying Dragon" of Kiangsi
(t) CHINA. Kiangsi. 10 Cash, ND (1902). Nanchang Mint. Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS VF-30.
CL-KSI.17; KM-Y-154. Variety with large top characters. Displaying the flying dragon, a vastly different dragon type than the rest of the province's output for the denomination, this circulated yet eminently wholesome specimen presents even red-brown surfaces that remain free from issue. Somewhat darker around the devices, this VERY RARE example should generate massive interest and appeal among the advanced collectors of the copper series, as this represents the first such instance of the type in one of our sales since the Q. David Bowers/R. B. White piece--a PCGS VF-25 that realized a total of $14,400 in our April 2018 Hong Kong Auction (Lot # 40180).
Ex: Ma Dingxiang Collection.

David Bowers/R.B. (t) On September 1, 2019, the United States enacted new tariffs on collector's items of Chinese origin, including bullion and numismatic coins and banknotes.
