Somewhat earlier date from the popular Lady Lavery series. This is the highest denomination of the series and it had tremendous purchasing power at the time of issue. While later dates were sometimes saved in higher grades when these notes were withdrawn, earlier dates tended not to be saved, and are not often seen in About Uncirculated condition. This example the sole finest in the PMG population report for this variety.
