ALGERIA. Banque de l'Algerie. 50 Francs, 1.8.1913. P-79. PCGS Banknote Very Fine 30 Details. Minor Repairs.
A very scarce and short-lived type from Algeria that was printed for just a few months in 1913. The 50 Francs denomination of French Colonial Algeria was printed on and off prior to World War II and generally in smaller numbers than other denominations. This is the first date of this rare type and is seen here in pleasing circulated condition. Skillful and rather minor repairs have enhanced the appearance of this piece but are not distracting. In 1918 this design was printed again, but in green, making this a true short-lived type that is surely missing from even the most advanced French Colonial bank note collections. PCGS Banknote Comments "Minor Repairs."
