CHINA. Zhou Dynasty, ca. 1046-256 B.C. Warring States Period, ca. 475-221 B.C. State of Qi. Bronze Proto-Knife Money, ND (ca. 400-220 B.C.). FINE.

33.56 gms. cf.Hartill-pg. 54. Uninscribed. Believed to be the predecessor of the inscribed 3, 4, 5 & 6 character knives. Crude manufacture as is typical, edge has been sharpened mentioned for accuracy. Attractive mottled green patina.
