1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 39.2-ee, W-4220. Rarity-5-. Draped Bust Left, AUCTOBI / ETLIR. VF-35 (PCGS).
125.4 grains. Deep golden brown with some mahogany accents in places. A few natural flaws and scattered planchet texture are noted, and are joined by a somewhat irregular scratch left of the effigy's face. A little off center on both sides with some letters of the legend tight to the rim, but there are no serious losses and even the date is nearly complete. Thinly defined through the effigy's head but pretty well balanced otherwise. With Hillyer Ryder's original collector's tag, and a nice provenance thus.
PCGS# 687283.
