1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.12-Z.16, W-3535. Rarity-5. Draped Bust Left. VF-35 (PCGS).
134.5 grains. Light steel brown with some scattered darker deposits and superficial oxidation along the lower left obverse and variously over the reverse. Somewhat granular with obvious natural linear fissures on the obverse and faint additional planchet flaws peppered about. A bit of natural planchet texture is also evident where it did not strike out, though the detail is actually pretty good on both sides with only the usual central weaknesses. Fairly well centered with good expression of the peripheral designs and only the bases of the date digits lost to the border. Obverse shattering visible in several places, mostly toward the lower left quadrant. This was the Henry C. Miller coin and is thus notably historic.
PCGS# 685183.
