Rare Overstruck Miller 33.7-r.4
1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 33.7-r.4, W-3450. Rarity-5. Draped Bust Left. Good-6 (PCGS).
103.3 grains. Uniform dark chocolate brown and mostly glossy though there is a bit of microgranularity and a few small pits, some of which have some subtle green deposits. Overstruck on an Irish halfpenny with considerable artifacts of the undertype seen in the upper left quadrant of the reverse, and elsewhere to a lesser degree. The Connecticut strike is well centered on the obverse but off center to the lower left on the reverse. Very rare and very interesting!
PCGS# 685174.
