1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 16.5-n, W-3025. Rarity-5+. Draped Bust Left. EF-45 (PCGS).
151.8 grains. Glossy light chocolate brown with almost no evidence of granularity. Some roughness and associated darkness around the effigy's face is entirely natural while minimal roughness through Liberty's torso is largely unstruck planchet texture along with a single small flaw. Smooth and hard otherwise with suggestions of retained luster in the reverse field. Centered to the right on both sides, with some losses to CONNEC, and ET LIB, but only minor ones. The date is complete. A small natural clip is seen as well. A very handsome example of the variety, and probably within the Condition Census as most do not have surfaces nearly as nice as this.
PCGS# 685116.
