1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 15-R, W-2910. Rarity-7. Mailed Bust Left, CONNECT / IND, 1787 over 1788. Good Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
118.9 grains. Fairly even bluish steel brown with subtle ruddiness in the light porosity seen over most of both sides. Centered slightly left on the obverse, and north on the reverse with minor related losses. A couple of tiny natural flaws are noted on the reverse rim. A fairly well-worn example that unfortunately no longer shows the date, but is quite rare. According to Syd's notes, when he bought it this was the first new example that had turned up in 30 years, per Robert Martin's then-ongoing research.
PCGS# 802795.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier from an unrecorded source at the December 2007 C4 Convention.
