Description
1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 5-P, W-2815. Rarity-6-. Mailed Bust Left. IN DE. VG-10 (PCGS).
100.1 grains. Dark steel brown with nuances of blue. Gently porous throughout, but not enough to be distracting. Struck off center toward the south on both sides, on a thin, underweight and defective planchet which did not allow for much detail in the lower portions of either side. However, in opposition the rims are broad with full expression of the dentils.
