1787 Connecticut Copper. Miller 4-L, W-2810. Rarity-1. Mailed Bust Left, Horned Bust. AU Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
130.1 grains. Evenly granular surfaces are mottled dark brown and steel, the reverse being a bit more chocolate than the obverse. Almost perfectly centered, evenly struck from the early states of the dies, and quite sharp-a coin that seems to have been lost to a spell of environmental exposure after very little actual circulation. A single die pairing is known for both these dies. In this early state, the "horn" from the bust for which this variety is known has not yet developed. This is the rarer state of the variety, and the sharpness of this example makes it particularly desirable.
PCGS# 946576.
