1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 6.4-F.5, W-2415. Rarity-6+. Mailed Bust Right. AG Details--Damaged (PCGS).
133.0 grains. Chocolate brown over most of the high points and a bit more deeply patinated in the fields, thankfully allowing for better visual appeal on this very worn specimen. Though well circulated, it really isn't damaged to any serious degree beyond some ancient scratches that are largely smoothed out by wear and some typical light porosity in the recesses. These were struck with much better developed rims at the left obverse which have nicely preserved the letters of AUCTORI. The outline of the head is clear and the letters of CONNEC are visible but soft. The reverse was clearly in a late state and bulged, so it is much weaker. A fairly rare variety, well worn but not at all unsightly.
PCGS# 686815.
