1785 Connecticut Copper. Miller 3.2-L, W-2330. Rarity-4. Mailed Bust Right. VF-35 (PCGS).
131.2 grains. Light steel brown with darker mottling in the fields and recesses. Evenly microgranular throughout, but with nicely balanced eye appeal and a generally glossy appearance. A couple of tiny rim nicks are noted at the top of the obverse, a thin old scratch is seen at the left obverse, and some old abrasions are on Liberty's lower legs. All these features have long since toned over and none stands out upon casual inspection. Rather well centered on both sides, with just the bases of the date digits off the flan. Other features are complete and comfortably spaced from the rims. Sold by John Ford in 1994 as a duplicate, but with a much nicer flan that his primary coin.
PCGS# 685154.
