1787 Fugio Cent. Club Rays. Newman 3-D, W-6680. Rarity-2. Rounded Ends. EF-45 (PCGS).
144.9 grains. This handsome piece is predominantly warm autumn-brown in color with glints of steel-gray nestled in close to some of the peripheral design elements. The surfaces are hard, tight and free of significant marks. Close inspection reveals some very minor pitting and a touch of unusual glossiness that points to an ancient cleaning, but these features are mentioned solely for accuracy as the eye appeal is strong for the grade. Well centered in strike and overall boldly defined, this is desirable example of a challenging Guide Book variety in the Fugio cent series.
