1787 Vermont Copper. RR-14, Bressett 10-K, W-2105. Rarity-3. Bust Right. Fine-15 (PCGS).
92.4 grains. A handsome Choice Fine example for both the type and die pairing, otherwise deep olive-copper surfaces show lighter autumn brown at the central high points. Well centered even though portions of the border denticulation are missing, the obverse is universally bold for the grade, reverse bold around periphery with weakness and original planchet texture at center. The surfaces are microporous, yet free of significant marks, planchet lightly flawed on reverse at the seated figure's neck.
PCGS# 800831. NGC ID: 2B5B.
From the Sydney F. Martin Collection. Earlier ex Shane, November 2003 C-4 Convention.
