1786 Vermont Copper. RR-11, Bressett 9-H, W-2050. Rarity-4. Bust Left. Double Struck. VF Details--Environmental Damage (PCGS).
141.8 grains. A rare mint error example of this challenging RR number. The effigy on the obverse is boldly outlined with some finer detail evident in the mail, peripheral legend partially legible, but with enough detail to show prominent doubling to the letters. Reverse softer overall, largely due to die state, but much of the seated figure is outlined, a few peripheral letters are discernible, and the branch hand is clearly doubled. Otherwise dominant dark charcoal-copper color gives way to bright orange over the right-central reverse. Rough and granular explaining the PCGS qualifier with a few minor, natural flan flaws at and near the borders on both sides.
PCGS# 800850. NGC ID: 2B59.
