MEXICO. War of Independence. Monclova. 8 Reales, 1811. Ferdinand VII. PCGS Genuine--Scratch, VF Details; Countermark: EF Details.
KM-201. "M.V.A./1811" countermark on cast 1805-Mo TH 8 Reales of Charles IV (KM-109). This revalidated 8 Reales bears a sharp dated Monclova stamp. The cast host is both well-produced and nicely preserved, enabling full appreciation of its details. A thin scratch on the reverse extends from the center to the rim, but the piece more than compensates for this with its enticing charcoal tone.
