MEXICO. Cob Escudo, ND (1702-10)-MXo. Mexico City Mint. Philip V. PCGS MS-63.
Fr-7C; KM-51.1; Cal-Type-204. Weight: 3.40 gms. This Choice Mint State Escudo displays a full Bourbon shield and cross along with the mintmark and denomination. The oblong flan means no date appears, but the mintmark and style narrows the attribution down to a small range. The coin's centuries underwater spared it from circulation and preserved its impressively sharp strike.
From the S.P. Rutherford Collection. Ex: 1715 Plate Fleet with certificate of authenticity.
