Brilliant Mint State Cob Minor in Gold
MEXICO. Cob 4 Escudos, 1715-Mo J. Mexico City Mint. Philip V. PCGS MS-62.
Fr-7A; KM-55.2; Cal-2030. Tied for finest certified of the date with one other example on the PCGS population report, none finer. This charming gold minor offers a pleasing pale gold coloration with satiny surfaces and bold design features such as a complete full four-digit date, mint mark and assayer letter and cross. The arms of Spain and crown are nearly complete with only a small portions off the flan, while the quadrilobe exhibits a bit of weakness on one side. An undisputed RARITY when encountered in high states of preservation, serious consideration should be given by potential bidders for a chance to acquire this seldom encountered issue.
