MEXICO. Cob 8 Reales, ND (1572-89)-Mo O. Mexico City Mint. Philip II. PCGS AU-50.
KM-43; Cal-662. Weight: 27.43 gms. "Closed 8" Variety. This compelling early cob issue features bold design elements throughout with little in the way of circulation wear. The rather broad, round planchet preserves a mostly full strike and exhibits a brilliant pale gray tone. Limited doubling gave the digit "8" a third loop, but interferes with little else. A wholesome coin of superior eye appeal.
