Obv: Chief Engraver James Barton Longacre's Indian Princess motif with 13 stars around the border. Liberty is seated left wearing a Native American headdress, her left hand resting atop a globe inscribed LIBERTY and her right hand supporting a liberty pole. Two flags are behind the portrait, one of which is ornamented with 13 stars, and the date 1871 is below. Rev: The same design that the Mint used to strike regular issue 1871 Liberty Seated half dollars. Dark olive base color and vivid central magenta highlights on this well preserved, razor sharp specimen. This scarce type has an extant population of only a half dozen or so coins, per the uspatterns.com website.
