A rather attractive example of this short-lived small size type that was a victim of the Great Depression. Small size Gold Certificates like this one were issued for only a few years before Franklin Roosevelt's heavy-handed Executive Order 6102 ordered the redemption of millions of Gold Certificates like this example which appears as fresh as the day it left its destination bank. The bright yellow-gold overprint beckons with a degree of clarity uncommon among circulated examples and is sure to call out to a good number of potential bidders before the hammer falls on this lot.
