FRANCE. Directory. Occupation of Mayence (Mainz). Square Copper Kreuzer Bridge Token, ND (1798-1800). PCGS AU-58.
Guilloteau-403; Ciani-404. Overstruck with fasces between R-F. A VERY RARE offering, this type originally served as a token payment for a bridge toll in Mainz. Some minor obfuscation of the undertype from the overstriking, but with warm brown surfaces and very little evidence of time in circulation.
