FRANCE. Constitution. Bronzed White Metal Écu de 6 Livres Essai (Pattern), Year 2/1791. Paris Mint. Louis XVI. PCGS SPECIMEN-62.
cf. Maz-79 (for full design in silver); Gad-51a.(c); cf. Ciani-2232-3 (for full design in silver and lead). Type without Phrygian cap on fasces. By N.-M. Gatteaux. Featuring the distinctive die break on the obverse, this VERY RARE example serves as an excellent representation of Gatteaux's classic design that provides a great deal of intricate detail.
