FRANCE. Constitution. White Metal Reverse Cliché or Trial for Écu de 6 Livres, Year 2 (1791). Paris Mint. Louis XVI. PCGS MS-61.
cf. Maz-72 (for full design); Gad-Unlisted; Ciani-Unlisted. Type II. By A. Dupré. An interesting variant of Dupré's type II design, in which the spacing of the reverse legend is a bit different, with more spacing between the cock and the termination of the legend than is generally seen. This example also features a number of engraver's guide marks still present.
