Although errors like the fabled Double Denomination reign paramount in the eyes of collectors other errors like this Foldover are a dramatic spectacle that demonstrate just how the quality control process is not always a watertight failsafe against mistakes. For all intents and purposes, this is your average $1 Federal Reserve Note, like one of hundreds of millions in circulation during the 1970s save for one key distinction, a Foldover that affects roughly 45% of the note and precluded the Third Printing from being applied to the left of Washington's portrait. A spectacle of failure that is sure to please the discerning error specialist.
