GUATEMALA. 1/4 Real Mule, 1878/1864. NGC MS-61.
EMO-2838 (Plate coin); cf. KM-146 (for obverse) & KM-130 (for reverse). An interesting and possibly unique mule featuring two differently-dated Cuartillo dies. Argent and brilliant, this piece maintains Mint State originality allowing one to admire the crisp detail offered on each side. Curiously, the 1864-dated reverse displays a fresher die state than the later volcanoes side. A VERY RARE find that is sure to excite collectors.
