GREAT BRITAIN. 1/2 Pound, 1642. Oxford Mint; mm: Banded Plumes. Charles I. PCGS VF-35.
S-2945; N-2404; KM-2143; Brooker 867 (same dies). Declaration type. Obverse: Charles, holding sword and reins, riding horse trotting left; plumes to right, pile of arms on ground line below; Reverse: Declaration in two lines between two parallel lines; three plumes above. An appealing and entirely handsome example, with steely brilliance and even consistent circulation across the high elements of the design. Touches of brilliance remain in the protected areas of the design, adding to the general charm.
