GREAT BRITAIN. Anglo-Saxon. Kings of Wessex. Penny, ND (ca. 899-910). Wynbeorht, moneyer. Edward the Elder. NGC MS-64.
S-1087; N-649. Circumscription cross/Horizontal-Quatrefoil (BMC ii) type. Weight: 1.66 gms. Attractively toned and rather sharply struck for the type, this specimen represents the finest of just three Mint State examples of the type seen at NGC. A RARE opportunity indeed, especially when paired with its stellar pedigree.
