VENEZUELA. Banco Caracas. 100 Bolivares, 14.7.1914. P-S155. PMG Very Good 10.
Well-circulated yet problem-free example of this scarce private issue, seen here with a 1914 date. While this bank typically ordered its banknotes from the American Banknote Company it appears a single print run was produced by the Homer Lee Bank Note Company of New York, the imprint of which can be seen on the bottom of the front. The design is essentially a direct copy of the notes produced by ABNC, and most contemporary users of this note would not have noticed the difference. Regardless a scarce type in issued form, with this example having not received any negative comments from the grading service despite having spent considerable time in circulation.
From the Arauca Collection.
