Fr. 1089. 1914 $100 Federal Reserve Note. New York. PMG Choice Fine 15.
The direct ancestor of what is arguably the most iconic piece of physical currency circulating anywhere in the world, a portrait of esteemed polymath and founding father of the United States Benjamin Franklin is seen at center on the face while an assemblage of allegorical figures is depicted on the back. Needless to say this note has seen better days, but in an aesthetic sense it retains the distinctions which have made this design a popular issue with collectors. PMG comments "Discoloration."
