Description

New Bloomfield, Pennsylvania. $10 1929 Ty. 1. Fr. 1801-1. First NB. Charter #5133. PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Serial Number 6.
First chartered in 1898, this institution is noted for the relative consistency of its Cashier and President. The engraved signature of Cashier J.T. Alter who served from 1898 through 1935 can be found opposite that of President James Wilson Shull who served from 1907 through 1935. Shull replaced the likes of W.C. Pomeroy who first held the position from 1898. Whether both men served past the end of the National-Banking-era, I cannot say other than that such consistency is remarkable.
