This bank which merged with another bank in 1931 assumed a new title one which reflected that distinction. However, what's notable about this institution is the building in which it was housed. The Guardian Building of Detroit which stands as a monument to architectural excess is one of the most distinctive structures in Detroit by virtue of the Art-Deco design and exceptional design elements including Numidian marble quarried in Africa to the facade which is composed almost exclusively of special brick.
