Richmond, Virginia. C. Constant. 1862 25 Cents. PMG Fine 12.
No. 343. An item not much unlike those which filled the channels of commerce during the American Civil War, a portrait vignette of a dog is seen at center and likely represents a virtue such as fidelity. A note like this one acted as a substitute for the lack of small change in circulation and were often issued by a multitude of banks and private businesses. PMG comments "Repaired."
