NORWAY. Norges Bank. 100 Kroner, 1942. P-22s1. Specimen. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.
Printed by Waterlow & Sons LTD., London. Watermark of F. Nansen. Serial number prefix "C". Four punch cancellations with red specimen overprint. Punch through embossing is readily noticed through the third party holder. Dark purple border design, with the same colored ink used for the counter and arms. Eye catching aqua and gold colored design surrounding the watermark. Orange and green guilloche below the counter. Well executed Scandinavian motifs on both sides of the note. Dark orange design on the reverse, with monogram of King Haakon VII at top right. This note should attract significant attention as it is an actual specimen, compared to remainders which were known to have been punch hole cancelled and overprinted. This historical piece is one of only two notes listed on PMG's pop report, and we are confident this variety is missing from even the most advanced Norwegian paper money collections.
From the Al Kugel Collection.
