1623/1698 Novum Belgium Fantasy Struck in Cardboard. About As Made.

An enigmatic piece, one side struck from the 1623 dated NOVVM BELGIVM die sold as part of the Robert M. Martin Collection in our November 2019 Baltimore Sale, while the other side is a 1698-dated NOVA BELGIVM with shield die. The die was thought to be by C. Wyllys Betts by Martin, though it is possible that these and other similar dies and their cardboard strikes are from another hand.
