Fr. 229a. 1899 $1 Silver Certificate. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.

A difficult key in assembling a complete convocation of "Black Eagles." Unlike the average example bearing the Vernon-McClung signature combination, this note features the series at right in a vertical arrangement contrary to the typical arrangement where the series date is placed just above the right serial number. Rare in any condition, this example has managed to avoid a life of circulation and retains the eye appeal befitting that distinction.
