Description

1891-CC Morgan Silver Dollar. VAM-3. Top 100 Variety. Spitting Eagle. MS-64 DMPL (PCGS).

Bold, brilliant, and exceptionally reflective fields have an intense flash throughout the untoned fields. Sharply struck devices are keenly frosted and they stand out with near-Cameo contrast. The eye appeal of this near-Gem is wonderful overall with precious few marks to limit the grade. The Spitting Eagle variety offered here is named for the small, triangular shaped die chip just below the eagle's beak. Since it is visible to the naked eye, this VAM is popularly collected as a major variety in the series. Very rare finer in the DMPL category.

PCGS# 97207. NGC ID: 255H.

PCGS Population: 65; 11 finer (MS-65 DMPL finest).

Estimate: $5000
