1878 Morgan Silver Dollar. 8 Tailfeathers. VAM-2. Lines in LIB. MS-64+ DMPL (PCGS). CAC.
A fabulous DMPL with boldly reflective and icy sleek fields that offer exceptionally deep and clear mirrors. The devices are thickly frosted, creating a Cameo-like appearance on both sides. Ultra clean for the assigned grade, this coin is on the cusp of a full Gem grade. The original reverse design was ornithologically incorrect, giving the eagle 8 Tailfeathers; this mistake was later corrected, making the 8 Tailfeather variety a one year subtype. This impressive example ranks high in the PCGS Population Report and is tied for finest at CAC.
