1884 Liberty Seated Half Dollar. WB-102. Repunched Date. MS-66 * (NGC).
This brilliant, brightly lustrous example displays a strong semi-prooflike finish that undoubtedly explains the coveted * designation from NGC for superior eye appeal at the assigned grade level. Just 1,000 examples of the 1884 half dollar are thought to survive from a circulation strike mintage of 4,400 coins, and fewer than 100 of these grade MS-65 or higher.
PCGS# 6366. NGC ID: 24KX.
NGC Census: 13, this being the only coin to receive a * designation for superior eye appeal; 8 finer (MS-67+ finest).
