Although a common charter, this note reflect an uncommon quality. Despite the fact that approximately 177 $5 Brown Backs are recorded on this charter by the National Bank Note Census in addition to a number of uncirculated examples, this note is preserved in a lofty gem state of preservation uncommon among Nationals of the period. A fine example for the astute collector seeking to assemble an extraordinary type set of Brown Back Nationals or the Missouri specialist.
