(Sheheen 848) No imprint. Remainder. Vignette of Dog with safe. Ornate green back design. This is an unsigned Remainder that has been Previously Mounted. Redeemable at the Bank of Charleston. Contemporary newspaper accounts place the Soldiers' Way-Side Home as a facility for helping Confederate soldiers. There was a statewide network of Wayside Hospitals which began in Columbia in 1862.
