New York, New York. Chemical Bank. 1850 $2. Haxby 1505-G88a. PMG Choice Fine 15.

An attractive issue from this prolific New York bank active from 1824 to 1865. At center is a forest scene with three dogs in pursuit of a group of birds and is flanked by a state die at left and a pair of allegorical females figures, one representing fertility and the other agriculture. Paper body remains solid, even circulation is observed, but some minor ink burn is noted here for posterity. PMG comments "Ink Burn."
