1881 Liberty Seated Quarter. Briggs 1-A. MS-66 (PCGS). CAC. OGH.
This is a beautiful premium Gem example of one of the more eagerly sought Philadelphia Mint Liberty Seated quarters. Toned in a rich blend of copper-apricot, steel blue, pale gold and pinkish-silver shades, both sides are fully lustrous with a vibrant satin texture and a razor sharp strike. Just 12,000 circulation strike 1881 quarters were struck and high grade survivors, as here, are far more challenging to obtain than those of the year's 975-piece Proof issue.
PCGS# 5513. NGC ID: 23VD.
PCGS Population: 15; 12 finer (MS-68 finest). CAC Stickered Population: 4; 4.
